Chains: Who’s active and who’s half-dead
I’m going to share metrics from different blockchain projects.
Some of them are new and still growing, while others have been around longer — and you might see either a drop in activity or steady usage.
In a few screenshots, you’ll also see signs of network issues, like charts showing transaction errors (marked with a red line).
ETHEREUM
Ethereum looks quite solid. There’s steady, moderate growth and consistently strong activity.
In the transactions section, we see a very low number of errors.
SOLANA
Overall, the activity is strong. They did a good job attracting a crowd through the Pump.fun project.
But the network still performs terribly — transactions fail very often. The error rate is honestly shocking! You can see it for yourself in the metrics if you don’t believe it.
That said, I’ll give them credit: their marketing is impressive. They know how to wrap garbage like it’s candy.
TON
Despite this financial backing, concerns have arisen regarding the authenticity of network activity. The TON Foundation’s promotion of the Notcoin project led to a surge in user engagement, but many of these projects, including games and mini-apps, were of questionable quality, with several failing midway. Notably, the head of the BLUM project was arrested on fraud charges, casting further doubt on the ecosystem’s integrity.
Moreover, the network has experienced operational issues, with users reporting frequent transaction failures. This is evident in the high error rates observed in transaction metrics.
In summary, while TON boasts a robust technical framework and substantial financial support, its recent challenges in network reliability and project quality raise questions about its long-term viability.
AVALANCHE
The data from this project gives mixed signals. It feels like the network is asleep most of the time and only wakes up occasionally — possibly due to pumps from individual projects.
That would mean the rest of the time, network activity is quite low.
My overall rating: average — maybe even slightly below. They had the potential to do much better.
And honestly, their marketing is pretty terrible.
More projects will follow, but without commentary.
